For Michael Thomas, rock music with prominent acoustic guitar played by Abandoning Sunday, is at its essence, a way to connect with people.
“I feel like I can release an experience once I’ve written about it. I can move on from it. My music helps me articulate the past in a different way. In the moment, it’s really easy for me to be very reactionary. But when I write about a past experience, every word has to count and be intentional. Every word is more calculated. Reflecting on something like this helps me process it for what it was and move forward.”
